There are several other active history and genealogy groups in Montague County, as well as a couple of great museums:

  • Montague County Genealogy Society: 
Formed in 1985, the group focuses on genealogy research and in helping to preserve the history of the people of Montague County.  Contact Max Brown for more information: mbrown99@aol.com
  • Montague County Cemetery Preservation Corporation: 
The "Cemetery Board" concentrates on maintenance, dedication, and preservation of the large number of public and private cemeteries within the County.  The MCHC has oversight of this stand-alone corporation.  For more information, click this link to the Cemetery Board page, or contact Tommie Sappington at tommie.sappington@yahoo.com
  • Nocona Business Archives Project:
The Tales 'N' Trails Museum in Nocona has partnered with Robert Terry of the Nocona Cemetery Association in a special project to locate and map historic businesses in Nocona. Check out the project page: https://noconachronicles.com
