Other County History Groups
There are several other active history and genealogy groups in Montague County, as well as a couple of great museums:
Formed in 1985, the group focuses on genealogy research and in helping to preserve the history of the people of Montague County. Contact Max Brown for more information: mbrown99@aol.com
The "Cemetery Board" concentrates on maintenance, dedication, and preservation of the large number of public and private cemeteries within the County. The MCHC has oversight of this stand-alone corporation. For more information, click this link to the Cemetery Board page, or contact Tommie Sappington at tommie.sappington@yahoo.com
The Tales 'N' Trails Museum in Nocona has partnered with Robert Terry of the Nocona Cemetery Association in a special project to locate and map historic businesses in Nocona. Check out the project page: https://noconachronicles.com
