The Mission of the Montague County Historical Commission is to preserve the history of the people, places and events significant to Montague County, Texas, and in doing so, to serve the Montague County Commissioners' Court.  Increased public awareness of the history of Montague County has been foremost in the efforts of the Commission, which has researched and published several books, booklets, and pamphlets focusing on local history.

The MCHC welcomes guests to our monthly meetings, held at 4pm on the third Wednesday of each month at the Old Jail in Montague.  Public tours of the Old Jail are conducted by appointment only at this time.
(Contact one of our Officers via email).
